Members of the Tacoma Police Department have been serving the citizens of Tacoma since 1885. Tacoma Police Union Local 6 was established on December 9, 1978. As our city has grown over the years, we have strived to stay on the cutting edge of professionalism and pride ourselves on community safety, security, and communication with our citizens.
Mission Statement
To unite the employees of the Tacoma Police Department for their mutual welfare, protection and advancement. To work for the establishment and maintenance of fair wages, hours, working conditions and civil service classifications. To support, maintain and better the existing pension system for police officers of the State of Washington to foster and promote a better understanding between our union members and the public.
